Ingredients:
Homemade white bread (preferably)
2 slices whole wheat bread
1 lb. ground turkey
1 lb. ground beef
2 large eggs
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons Madeira or cream sherry
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried marjoram
½ teaspoon ground allspice
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ cup ketchup

Heat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease an 8½ by 4½ inch loaf pan.

Crumble bread into crumbs. In large bowl, mix together breadcrumbs, turkey, beef, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, sherry, onion, thyme, marjoram, allspice, salt, and pepper until well combined. Pack into greased pan, smoothing top. Bake loaf 45 to 55 minutes, or until center is firm when gently pressed with a fingertip.

Holding top with a spatula, carefully pour juices into saucepan. Add ketchup and heat to boiling, cook five minutes and then keep warm.

Cool turkey loaf in pan for 10 minutes. Slice thinly for sandwiches, and serve on toast, and serve sandwiches with sweet onion rings.
